Hogmanay! Happy New Year!

I have been writing over the holidays- or trying to, at least.  Having three celebrations in under two weeks.... well, it is wonderful but very exhausting. At the moment I am wandering between three different writing tasks and am in some manner of brain fog.

Hopefully, inspiration will strike soon- although I am struggling, I also learned a lot from this experience so far which is the most important thing.

I had hoped to post something more this evening but instead, I will go for one last run of 2017 - perhaps the wind on my face will blow out the cobwebs of the old year!

And so, Happy New Year to you wherever you are.
I wish you love, I wish you peace- and most of all, I wish you hope.

Where the Stars Burn

A gift for someone, inspired by a particular pairing of characters.
Neelix read this and I am grateful.

I have loved you

In wild, secret places,

In the dark, cold spaces

Where the stars burn.

I have loved you

In the quiet gloaming,

Allowing word nor kiss

To pass my lips.

I have loved you

In the roar of battle,

That each bitter moment

Would be your end.

I have loved you

Without hope or wisdom,

Of what all reason said

Could never be.

I have loved you

Breathless in the sunrise,

As you, trembling, placed

Your hand in mine.
